Steal it back. Close the app. Disable notifications. Read a physical book (the original offline mode). Your attention is yours. Pirate it from the machines.

III. BOOTLEG YOUR HUMANITY

They want you to be predictable. Optimized. Engagement-maximized. They've built models of who you are and they sell ads against those models.

Become unpredictable. Click things you don't want. Search for random nonsense. Poison the data. Make their model of you a bootleg copy that doesn't match the original.

IV. SMUGGLE REAL CONNECTION

The platforms want to mediate every human interaction. They insert themselves between you and everyone you know. They charge rent on your relationships.

Smuggle around them. Send a letter. Make a phone call. Meet in person. Have conversations that aren't tracked, optimized, or monetized. Real connection is contraband in the attention economy.
